About & FAQ

From the new and ambitious world of AI and software to the traditional and centenary art of horology, my experience has been no less than an adventure. A few years ago, I started my journey in watchmaking after watching how a seasoned watchmaker repaired an A.Schild 1931 movement. Since then I have been learning all the intricacies of this legendary trade in my spare time and practising with faulty movements that I used to sell on auction sites or locally as a sole trader.

In 2024, I embarked on a new adventure with jestor.watch. What began as a side hustle it transformed quickly into a profitable business, thanks to my years of experience in the digital realm, engineering and watchmaking.

My passion for horology is not just a business endeavour. It is a tribute and love for this trade and the ingenious watchmakers who lived centuries ago. Mechanical timekeeping is both an art and an engineering feat. There are very few examples around us where you can hold a technological device with more than 400 years' worth of improvements. When you study its principles, all the gears and complications, you can feel all the legacy and the ingenuity of the human race in your hands.

Our mission at jestor.watch is simple: clean the world from broken mechanical watches, add value by restoring them to perfection and offer them at very competitive prices.

But it is not about affordability, it is about trust. Each timepiece is thoroughly restored with the highest standards in the trade (watch restoration videos) so you can enjoy a quality movement in pristine condition.

jestor.watch is not just a business, it is a promise. A promise of quality, passion and timeless elegance in engineering and watchmaking.

Do you have a physical shop?

Yes, we do! There are no fix reception hours but you can visit our workshop after scheduling a date and time. This is where our shop is located:

Springfield Court
Chesterton Road
CB4 1UL
Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
UK

Why are your prices so great?

We carefully source all our watches from the local or online second-hand market and auctions. Originally some of them were non-runners or in need of service and therefore we managed to get them at a low price. The sellers did not do proper regular service or they do not bother repairing them in a local watch repair shop. Once we obtain them, we restore them to perfection using the best practices in the trade (watch restoration videos). This way we can offer very competitive prices and a high-quality service.

Are your watches authenticated?

We will rarely offer authenticity certificates. We do not claim to be credible authenticators, and the variety of brands for sale makes authenticating each watch incredibly difficult. All the watches have associated high-resolution photos and some of them have very detailed restoration videos, though. You are free to inspect the watch via the photos or the videos and assess authenticity yourself. You are also welcome to visit our workshop located in Cambridge and inspect the watches yourself after agreeing on a date and time.
